43 Nepali women stranded in Soudi Arabian

Some 43 Nepali women, who had gone to Saudi Arabia to work as domestic helps, have been stranded in Riyadh for almost ten months, Kantipur daily reported.

The women have been taking refuge at the Nepali embassy in Riyadh. They have not been able to return home due to lack of permission from the Saudi Arabian government and return tickets.

The women who have come to the embassy for support include those who were fired, denied salary by their employers, thrown out from the place of work, and subjected to overwork and torture, according to Khadga Prasad Dahal, first secretary and spokesperson of the Nepali embassy in Riyadh.

How many of us chhantyals are in this new age of technology and being able to take the most out of it. How many of us are able to get good food and water. How many of us are able to get a good education and health care. How many of us are able to find good jobs and provide for our children. May be we can do something to help ourselves little more and be proud to be a chhantyal at the same time. A Chhantyal will always helps others in need. May this be the motto of this forum
